"150% more than".

We are all used to seeing "y is 150% of x", which means y = 1.5x. We are less used to seeing "y is 150% more than x" and there is a temptation to think they are the same. Wrong!

"y is 150% more than x" means that y = x plus 150% of x, which is y = x + 1.5x = 2.5x.
